Thomas Hopson
PresidentThomas Hopson is an accomplished business executive with over 30 years of experience in the medical device industry. Thomas has provided leadership to multi-million-dollar business enterprises in Europe, Asia, and the United States, and he has successfully transformed multiple struggling organizations into healthy and thriving businesses. He joined Bioplate as President in 2018, bringing with him an extensive background in sales, business development, organizational learning and product commercialization. Before joining Bioplate, Thomas served as the Director, Global Talent Management & Learning at Edwards Life Sciences. Prior to Edwards, Thomas held various leadership positions at St. Jude Medical.
Thomas is passionate about giving back to the youth in underserved communities. He has been an avid supporter of several organizations dedicated to serving our youth, including Boys and Girls Club, Mentor Up, Ambassador of Compassion, Boys Town USA, Fathers and Sons Speak and various other community organizations.

Erin Hickey
Vice President of Business OperationsErin Hickey is a veteran medical device executive with more than a decade of multidisciplinary experience in the field. He has held positions of increasing responsibility, beginning his career in research and development, where he focused primarily on novel polymer devices and biologics. After guiding the successful launch of a synthetic bone graft substitute, Erin joined Bioplate and transitioned into manufacturing, leading production efforts across a diverse portfolio of medical devices. In 2013, he pivoted to sales and business development, directing a major expansion of Bioplate’s global distribution network. In 2018, Erin joined Bioplate’s leadership team as Vice President of Business Operations, where he plays a key role setting and driving strategic initiatives across all departments.

Job Summary: The responsibility of the Product Development Manager is to integrate the various segments of the business into a strategically focused program that maximizes the value of a portfolio of products and applications. The Product Development Manager will work directly with customers/sales/marketing/leadership to develop programs to increase sales and visibility of current and future products. A key component of this position is to help drive strategic innovation through R&D successful launches to key markets within the medical device industry.
Essential Functions:
- Maintain close communication with stakeholders regarding general concerns and updates on Bioplate products
- Responsible for analysis and maintenance of product supply chain partnerships
- Lead Bioplate initiatives such as product rationalization and global forecasting
- Optimize business performance of existing products by developing product positioning and sales education for customers
- Conduct customer visits/sales calls to understand market dynamics and customer needs
- Optimize business performance through in‐depth analysis of market and competitive environment and close monitoring of global pricing within major markets to optimize pricing and product positioning
- Identify new markets, channel optimization and/or applications opportunities to maximize sales of existing products
- Responsible for-profit margin of product line with focus on revenue and margin growth within existing markets
- Manage projects and resources in the development of new products
- Monitor the success of new products launched; analyze the effectiveness of recent projects

Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in business, sciences and/or related field
- Minimum two (2) years of related product management experience, preferably in life science/biotechnology
- Proven experience in Product Positioning, Merchandising and Promotions, Product Lifecycle Management, Product Development Processes as well as Sales and Operations Planning
- Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills, including the ability towork cross‐functionally

- Successful completion of all R&D and Engineering projects and is required to direct, coordinate, and supervise all department employees.
- Responsible for setting individual goals and assigning workloads based on company objectives and employee capabilities. Responsibilities include the preparation and implementation of the annual department budget.
- Develop functional plans and training initiatives to ensure continued development of departmental competencies and resources in line with company and corporate strategic goals.
- Develop and maintain all relevant procedures and processes covering the development process, as well as relevant interfaces with other functions and processes.
- Present technical information to management, customers and field representatives and shall participate at various trade association meetings and fact gathering sessions.
- Successful organization and completion of projects initiated to specify, design, and develop new products for Bioplate. These projects will typically draw on resources from internal staff as well as from outside consultants or other collaboration partners.
- Ensure adequate specifications and validation of the products to be developed in every phase of the development process.
- The position shall also identify and manage patent applications, 510K filings, etc. when applicable for projects and products.

A comprehensive knowledge of regulatory standards including but not limited to: Bioplate’s internal standards and procedures, ISO 13485, UL, CE, CSA, MDD/MDR, FDA/QSR and applicable state and local requirements.

The Area Sales Manager will build and maintain distributor relationships, establish price structure, and provide product training to clients.
Essential Functions:
- Function as subject matter expert to prospects, clients, and departmental leaders on issues relating to sales
- Launch and execute strategies and tactics within assigned territory to maximize market growth penetration in targeted physician offices and hospitals
- Ensure that distributors have the resources needed to sell Bioplate products

Bioplate is seeking an energetic, self-motivated Accounting Associate interested in becoming part of our growing accounting team. As a member of the Accounting & Finance team, the candidate will focus on monthly, quarterly closing processes, forecasting and budgeting. The position will provide financial guidance and business partnership to the Centers of Expertise (COEs) leadership teams.
Essential Functions:
- Assisting monthly financial statements package by reconciling sub-ledger to general ledger account balances.
- Providing outside auditors with assistance - gathers necessary account information and documents to perform quarterly audit.
- Performing monthly balance sheet, income statement and changes in financial position/budget variance analysis.
- Assisting in the design and preparation of budgets for review by management.
- Providing management decision support through ad-hoc reporting and analysis.
- Verifies and/or completes payment of invoices associated with accounts payable and ensures payments are charged to the appropriate accounts.
- Assisting in managing timely and quality delivery of multiple tasks, including quarterly audits, projects, special assignments, and administrative activities.
- Performing other accounting duties and supporting junior staff as required or assigned.
Education/Experience Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
- In pursuit of Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or a relevant certification preferred.
- 1+ year of experience performing financial analysis in support of external audit.
- 1+ year of experience in accounting (Working knowledge of tax laws and GAAP).
